International students in F-1 immigration status who are
enrolled in or finishing a degree programme in the US may be eligible for OPT (Optional Practical Training). This
job can be used: Prior to finishing school during a period of leave or annual
vacation. following the conclusion of studies. You must: Have a valid F-1
student status at the time of application in order to be eligible for OPT. And,
be enrolled full-time in American schools for a minimum of one full academic
year. When submitting your application, you must be in the United States
physically. For most students, OPT is granted for a maximum of 12 months;
however, students pursuing degrees in STEM (science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics) subjects may be eligible for an extra 24-month extension.
F1-CPT, on the other hand, has no set time restriction. International students
studying in the US are granted temporary work authorization (OPT) that enables
qualified students and recent graduates to obtain relevant work experience in
their subject of study.
