The main difference between CPT internships and OPT jobs is that in CPT internships the companies collaborate with the universities to enrol their existing fresh employees for study. Due to the fact that CPT is an internship and under this program F-1 visa holders are allowed to work only for one year the companies have to pay less to the candidates. On the other hand OPT jobs are either done after completing first year of a degree course from a university or college that offers OPT education.
