a.       Implemented Quality Management System aiming continuous improvement in Customer Satisfaction, Built in Quality, & Teamwork.

b.      Ensure Quality Management System is clearly understood, implemented & maintained within the company through internal audit, corrective action, and document control activities.






c.        Develop/Implement "Business Plan & KPIs" for effective control & monitor business performance.

d.      Implemented system for  monitoring "Cost of Quality & Customer Satisfaction”.

2: April 08 ~ April 13:

General Manager (Quality Assurance & Management Representative ISO/TS) in MANNAN SHAHID FORGINGS LIMITED. The company is manufacturer of Forged, Heat Treated & Machining Components. My responsibilities include:

1        Implemented Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metric in plants for Real Time Performance Management (RPM) and Continuous improvement.

2        Setting up Activity Based Costing System for tracking cost of manufacturing.

3        Implemented advanced product quality planning to meet “Customer Requirements”.

4        Implement “Lean Manufacturing System” in Companies “Business Activities”.

3: August 2005  -   November 2007 :

 General Manager (Technical) in ABBAS STEEL GROUP. The company is manufacturer of Wire Rods & Bar (Plains & Twisted).

My responsibilities include:

1        New Projects Feasibility Studies, Negotiation with international and local Consultant/Supplier for Equipment Selection, Fabrication & Commissioning.

2        Develop and implement plans for Capacity Enhancement, Production Efficiency, Preventive Maintenance, Cost Control and Manpower Training.

3        Up gradation of existing facilities for New Products Introduction, Plant & Machinery Selection, Hiring of Manpower, etc.

4:July 1990 – July  2005:

Worked in INDUS MOTOR COMPANY, KARACHI, a manufacture of Toyota & Daihatsu Vehicles, from the initial stage of its setup. Detail of my assignments and contributions to the company are:  

   i- January 1998 – July 2005:

SENIOR MANAGER (QUALITY CONTROL / ASSURANCE): In this capacity my responsibilities were to;

1        Establish Quality Management & Quality Costing System in the company.

2        Support Marketing & Service Department in Competitors Products & Service range analysis.

3        Develop and Implement Systems and Procedures for new vehicle Evaluation.

4        Quality Evaluation of locally developed automobile components and support vendors on Quality improvement & Cost Control.    

              ii-August 1994  to December 1997:

 MANAGER, PRODUCTION ENGINEERING: Responsibilities included;

1        New Project: Feasibilities, Tender documents Preparation, Concept/Detail Design, Equipment selection, Fabrication/Installation and Project monitoring. 

2        Process Engineering: Process improvement, Work Standardization, Balancing & Modernization. Process selection and implementing changes.

3         Technical Coordination: Equipment Supplier (Overseas & Local), Fabricators & Contractors. Technical Evaluation and Price negotiation.


iii-July 1993   to July 1994:

 MANAGER, (WELD SHOP): Involved in the production management, work improvement and Multi-skill   development of staff for Weld Shop.

                 iv-July 1990   to June 1993:

 DEPUTY MANAGER, (WELDING) Responsible for setting up the “Welding Shop” from Concept to Commissioning for manufacturing of “Toyota” vehicles.   

5:October 1989  to July 1990.


Prepared detailed technical and production assessment report on special alloy steels requirement in Pakistan.

6:January  1988 to September 1989.

SENIOR ENGINEER, TRAILER DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION PVT LTD.: Worked as Project Engineer Bus Body Fabrication and Quality Control of welding. Developed and implemented welding procedures & welder qualifications tests.

7:August 1985 to December 1987.

FIELD MANAGER, PAKISTAN OXYGEN LTD. Responsibilities included;

1        Introduction of Hard facing Electrodes for rebuilding of wearing components in Cement, Sugar and Oil Exploration Sector.

2        Introduction of Semi-Automatic and Automatic Welding Machines in industries.

3         Recommendations / suggestions on client’s Welding problems and Process Selection.

8:January 1981 to October 1983.

ASSISTANT SUPRINTENDENT, KARACHI SHIPYARD & ENGINEERING WORKS LTD.: Main responsibilities included materials selection and inspection.


1        Master of Science (M. Sc.) from the University of ASTON, Birmingham, United Kingdom. in 1985. Area of specialization Welding Technology and Management”.

(A) Introduction:

Business Excellence of an organization is a Quality Management System (QMS) which addresses its business challenges, continuous improvement culture and processes performance parameters. An efficient, integrated and insightful QMS brings organization to a level. Known as “Business Excellence”.

(B) How to Achieve:

Focus Items:

  • Plan Product & Process with Quality in mind.
  • Align Process, People & Technology with goals & objectives set in QMS.
